Kaunch Pruriens, also called by its English name Velvet Bean, is a perennial twining shrub with medicinal seeds, roots, and leaves. Both in Ayurveda and in modern medicine, it has been utilized for medicating sexual health, as a nootropic, and for strength through muscle development. The plant could be denser in its shoots covered in fine silvery hairs with purple flowers and a curved pod . The seeds mainly constitute the medicinal part, which is rich in L-dopa, an important compound instrumental in brain function.
